OPERATING IN THE SHADOWS OF INNOVATION.
Artech Shadow Industries (ASI) is a tactical R&D unit—not an agency. Founded by Glenn Watts (University of Salford Innovator / Beyond Conference 2025), we prototype spatial computing systems for teams that need provable, working tech.
We fuse rigorous engineering with sci-fi aesthetics to solve human-computer interaction challenges—from pixel-streamed digital twins to novel control surfaces. (Past haptic devices were one-off experiments, not a product line.)
Custom wearable interface prototypes (one-off R&D). Builds like the XR Mouse and ShadowPen inform our research but are not commercial offerings.
From Revit to Real-Time. We construct 1:1 digital replicas powered by Unreal Engine 5.6. Our pipelines preserve BIM data integrity while delivering photorealistic visuals via Pixel Streaming.
The world is the canvas. We develop location-based AR and mixed reality interactions that map digital layers onto physical spaces with sub-millimeter accuracy.
Preservation through digitization. We utilize photogrammetry and Gaussian Splatting to create archival-grade 3D assets of artifacts, garments, and environments.
Generative velocity. We integrate Python-based AI workflows to automate asset creation, texture generation, and code synthesis, reducing R&D cycles by 40%.
Real-time filmmaking. We engineer LED volume pipelines and camera tracking systems that blur the line between physical set and digital render.
Digital preservation of fashion history. High-fidelity 3D scanning and archiving of student costume designs.
